Lasagna is safe right??

Ok, so I let BF pick this week's adventure and he picked lasagna, from the College Cooking Cookbook by Megan and Jill Carle. I can do this!!

First, I get to brown hamburger for the first time on my own!!

I did pretty good if I say so myself!! (I cooked it more after this picture, there was no pink)

Then I had to combine and layer everything. They had me put in 32 oz of ricotta cheese!! Next time, we'll halve that!! Super cheesy and not in a good way!

You can't see all the cheese, but it is there. We ate a bit then "donated" the rest.

Next time, fried rice!!!! It will be good!!

 

I don't like artichokes..........

That's right! I'm making dip!! Now I have never knowingly ate artichokes, so I was rather hesitant. To show my naivete, I had no idea that mayo often goes in dip. Needless to say this was an adventure.

First off, artichoke hearts SMELL!!!!!!!!! Horrible. I was gagging while I was cutting them up. Then I was trying to thaw the frozen spinach and made the microwave smell funny........

BUT, I got a garlic press and was very excited!! Until the garlic got stuck and I still had to use my fingers. But it worked out!

So here it is in the pan, waiting for the oven to preheat......it was rather thin because all my mom's 8x8 pans were in use, so I had to sub with a 9x13...not the same.

So here it is in all the cheesy goodness!!! My mom and I kept snacking on it all night! SO yes, I do like artichokes when covered with cheese!!

Yummy!! Can't wait for lasagna.....

So, here's whats up.
I like to cook....until I'm cooking then I'm like why am I doing this???

Hence the name. 

I have all the cookbooks by Megan and Jill Carle and am cooking through them. I'll share what happens with you guys!

To give you an idea, this weekend the BF and I make collard greens and cornmeal. I used turkey bacon, he hates leaves, we ate at Bob Evans. It was disgusting. But hey, I'll try anything once. 

So sometime soon...Artichoke Dip!!
